We’ve run affiliate programs at three different companies. Every time, the same pattern: pick the cheapest tool that doesn’t break, watch it slowly fail to keep up as traffic scales, migrate to an enterprise platform that costs 30× more, then negotiate a contract for capabilities you don’t actually use.
